Licensed Practical Nurses provide nursing support in a physician practice or clinic setting, assisting with patient assessments, preparing patients for evaluations, administering medications, maintaining work areas, documenting patient information, providing patient teaching, assisting with referrals and lab procedures. Requirements include graduation from an accredited practical nursing school, one year of experience in a physician office, current LPN licensure in Virginia, Radiologic Technician Limited licensure if performing radiology, and current AHA BLS-HCP certification. Other qualifications include customer service skills, effective communication, problem-solving abilities, proficiency in using computer systems, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
