The Sleep Technician is responsible for evaluating and treating sleep disorders, conducting polysomnographic testing, and implementing interventions. They collect patient information, prepare equipment, apply electrodes and sensors, perform calibrations, monitor data acquisition, and provide age-specific care. The technician also scores sleep stages and clinical events, generates reports, and ensures compliance with protocols and regulations. Education and experience requirements include pursuing sleep A-Step program and obtaining relevant licenses/certificates. The technician must possess physical abilities to handle equipment and work in confined spaces.
